The tour will start with a visit to the National Museum of Tanzania; a consortium of five Tanzanian museums whose purpose is to preserve and show exhibits about the history and natural environment of Tanzania.
Your next stop being at the village museum that showcases authentically constructed houses and equipment from a few of the tribes of Tanzania and is located in the heart of Dar es Salaam. Learn about the traditional villages of Tanzania, and immerse yourself in the local culture of the Tanzanian people.
Next visit the Tinga Tinga cooperative, set back from the road, follow the path past the other local artists to the building at the back. There is no entry free and it won’t take you long to walk around the workshop. Watch the artists and work and have the opportunity to buy their paintings and other Tinga Tinga painted souvenirs.
Your final stop will be at Slipway; the city’s premier shopping and leisure center. The Slipway is a waterfront area featuring upmarket boutiques, along with a children’s play area, an ice-cream parlor, and a traditional craft market. A wonderful place to find unusual souvenirs, home furnishings, artworks, high-quality giftware, and other fine products, this popular attraction also features numerous great dining venues and island excursions to the magical beaches of Bongoyo Marine Reserve.
